"Use The Latest Technology To Estimate Electrotechnology Projects"

Good – Quality estimating software is a great tool for speed, eliminating repetitive work and reducing human error, however, very few computer programs have the flexibility and capability to cater for the variety of “Environmental or External Influencing Factors” and “Degrees of Difficulty” that accompany all Electrotechnology projects. Whilst all this is well and good, estimating software still requires the human mind of experience and intelligence to apply these factors.  To build your Estimating “Reputation” and fill the Electrotechnology transition gap, SynergyPro offer Software that covers over 20 Scopes of Work from “Fiber Optic Cabling to the Desk”(FTTD)to“Embedded Co-Generation Power Systems” and every other Scope of Work in between with the ability to create Sub Scopes of Work limited only by the users imagination plus project management tools to keep your projects on track. My Quote Mate© offers the user four (4) optional trade resource project labour rates and four (4) optional “Environment or External Influencing Factor” rates for Overtime, Shift Allowance, Vendor Allowance (EBA/Site Allowance) and Degrees of Difficulty.  My Quote Mate© offers the user a friendly experience and a flexible alternative to address your many  Electrotechnology Estimating needs, quickly, efficiently, and most importantly accurately.  My Quote Mate© offers the competent Electrotechnology Engineer/Technician access to various common  “Electrotechnology Scopes of Work” each with the flexibility to add additional work scopes within each “Scope of Works”, therefore limited only by the users imagination.

Of the many My Quote Mate© features the most significant are;

Preliminary Tender Review Assessment with 12 Agenda Items offered as a checklist and for consideration to determine your “Tender Risk Profile”. Preliminary Tender Review Assessment Calculator to determine your recommended labour rate based on the “Tender Risk Profile” determined. “Tender Risk and Opportunity” assessment with 17 Agenda Items offered as a checklist and for consideration to determine your Risk and Opportunity Values. Over twenty (20) pre-loaded common Electrotechnology “Scopes of Work”. A Bill of Quantity (BOQ) menu is offered for each “Scope of Work” with individual drop down menu’s and validated cells to prompt and protect entries to eliminate dual data entry and reduce data entry error’s. A BOQ quantity menu capable of calculating Mains up to 300Sqm installed In Parallel. A Bill of Material (BOM) is generated for each “Scope of Work”. The ability to apply EWP equipment hire rates to each “Scope of Works” expressed as % portion of the work.   The ability to apply four (4) optional trade qualification resource project labour rates. The ability to apply four (4) optional “Environment or External Influencing Factor” rates for Overtime, Shift Allowance, Vendor Allowance (EBA/Site Allowance) and “Degree of Difficulty” for each of the twenty (20) pre-loaded common Electrotechnology “Scopes of Work” expressed as % portion of the work. Individual “Scopes of Work” are pre-loaded with optional Labour Unit Rates and optional Material Unit Rates all with the flexibility and capability of margin adjustments.

A “Tender Summary” screen that offers the flexibility and capability to;

Review all 20 “Scopes of Work” and select installation project team sizes from 1-4 staff and weekly work hours from 40-48.

The ability to determine and apply labour Cost & Sell rates over four (4) optional trade qualification resource project labour rates.

Determine and apply Overhead Recovery Rates.

Good Estimator Attributes

Good Estimators will be able to provide evidence of how they manage estimating Risk and how they evaluate prospective Tenders.

Good Estimators will be able to provide evidence of previous Project Autopsy's and how they developed their Labor Unit Rates for Historical reference and their records.

Good Estimators will integrate well with their Field Staff, in fact Field Staff is an Estimators greatest source of Site Feedback, from this Good Estimators can develop accurate labour Unit Rates and therefore Field Staff should be considered part of the Estimating Team.

From integrating with site Field Staff Good Estimators can then identify strengths and weaknesses associated with their staff.

Good Estimators should be experienced in Computerised Estimating packages and understand the specifications and standards associated with each and every tender they undertake.

Good Estimators Must Have;

An understanding and knowledge of the Specifications and Scope Of Works

A Consistent, Organised and Structured method of Quantity Surveying

An ability to evaluate and assess Sub-Contractor and Supplier estimates in compliance with the Specifications and Scope Of Works

An ability to evaluate and assess Sub-Contractor and Supplier estimates in compliance with Project Gantt Charts & Works Programmes

An understanding and knowledge of Gantt Charts & Works Programmes, construction methods and materials

An understanding and knowledge of Architectural and schematic drawings

An understanding and knowledge of all Project Legislation, regulations, policies and workplace health and safety procedures.

Strong Sales Skills and work well with their Customers and Sales Team and mitigate all Risks associated with their Tenders.

An understanding and knowledge of the current Technologies, the strengths and weaknesses of their staff skill sets.

An understanding and knowledge of Industry and legislative changes and demonstrate strong management skills associated with installation planning, project planning, testing and commissioning to ensure the installation performs as Designed and Estimated.

MQM has been an ongoing project that has spanned 30 years, experience
